Energon Keeper One Shot

I woke up stretching my arms as i looked around the room. Optimus was asleep in a chair near the couch i was laying on. I smiled as i got up and walked over and sat down in his lap as i started to weave my fingers through his hair. He opened his eyes and looked at me smiling abit as he stretched and then wrapped me in a hug. "Did you sleep well?" he asked kissing the top of my head. I smiled snuggling my face into his neck, "Yea, you?" i asked. He looked at me for a moment, "I slept good knowing you were safe." he said. It had been a while since the cons had tried something and it was making him very cautious. He wouldnt even let me go with him on missions of rides anymore since he found out Megatron was after me. i thought he was being a little to overprotective but he wouldnt hear it. "Optimus?" i said as sweetly as possible. He eyed me cautiously, "Yes Kairi?" he said. "When can we go for a ride again? I dont like being stuck in here all the time. I need some fresh air" i said. He stiffened a bit as he looked at me. I could tell he didnt like leaving me in here all the time. "Its to dangerous Kairi. If something happened to you on my watch, i....i just cant take that risk." he said his eyes shimmering with saddness and fear. i looked into his eyes as i craddled his face leaning into him as i kissed him softly. He leaned into my kiss for a moment before leaning back a bit looking into my eyes. "Kairi, i cant lose you. i wish you understood how i feel." he said. I got up and folded my arms across my chest as i narrowed my eyes at him, "I understand exactly how you feel. You dont think i worry everytime you leave here? Wondering if you are gonna walk back in here or come back in pieces? I worry about your safety every single time you leave me here. How do you think i would feel if something happened to you and i wasnt there to help?" I snapped a bit angry that he thought i didnt understand. He got up and walked over to me and wrapped his arms around me as i turned my back to him still upset. "I am sorry Kairi. I did not mean to upset you." he said pulling me close to him. I sighed not being able to stay mad at him for long. I turned looking up at him my eyes filling with tears, "I fear for you everyday. So I understand how you feel. I just think it is better if we are together then if we are apart." i said leaning into his chest as i closed my eyes a few tears sliding down my cheeks. He hugged her closer as he rested his chin on her head closing his eyes, "I will always come back to you, i promise" he said softly as he pulled away from me so he could look in my eyes. He wiped the tears from my face as he gave me a small smile, "Where do you want to go?" he asked softly. I smiled as i jumped in his arms wrapping my arms around his neck as i kissed him on the lips almost knocking him off balance. I pulled away looking him in the eyes, "Lets go to the island, the cons dont know of that place yet and i really would like to go back there" i said smiling at him. He smiled as he set me down, "Ok lets go then" he held his hand out and i took it as he led me to his truck form where he opened the door and helped me get in. He shut the door behind me as he began to drive towards the main room. I rolled his window down and leaned out it, "Ratchet! Open the bridge to the island plz!" i said to him. He nodded as he typed in the coordinates rolling his eyes at how loud i had said it. I rolled the passenger window back up and then got back in the drivers seat as he drove through the ground bridge. We arrived near the beach as he pulled to a stop. His holoform appeared as he opened the door helping me out. I inhaled deeply before breathing out slowly enjoying the fresh air. "Haha very funny" he said while he walked up beside me. "I told you i needed some fresh air" i teased as i walked over to the small field of grass and sat down in it. He followed me and sat down beside me happy that i was enjoying myself. I turned looking at him, "What?" i asked looking at him. He smiled at me before laying back in the grass folding his arms behind his head, "im glad your happy" he said as he looked up at the sky. I laid down next to him as i snuggled into his side laying my head on his shoulder and resting my hand on his chest. I closed my eyes as a warm breeze blew by us. My hair danced in the breeze as i smiled enjoying being able to relax with him and get away from it all in our special place. "Thank you" i said. He turned looking at me before looking back up at the sky, "For what?" he asked softly. "For this..." i said before drifting off to sleep. He smiled as he kissed the top of my head taking the arm i was laying on out from behind his head and wrapping it around me pulling me close as he closed his eyes.
